About BaneTele AS
BaneTele AS owns and operates a nationwide fiberoptical network in Norway. The network is deployed from the south to the very north of the country, comprising more than 13.000 kilometers of fiber (20.500 km when including the infrastructure of our partners). This modern, high-capacity, redundant network reaches all major access hubs in Norway.
BaneTele provides capacity and communication products as well as services based on WDM, SDH, MPLS (IP) and DSL technologies. As an independent provider of broadband network services in the Norwegian market, BaneTele's network meets communication needs in all market segments.
 
The company is owned by the Norwegian government, represented by the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and Bredbåndsalliansen/The Broadband Alliance (50/50). Its headquarter and network operations centre are located in Norway's capital Oslo, while five regions manage predominantly technical operations. The company employs approximately 203 experts in the fields of technology, business development, marketing and client relations. Chairman of the Board is Stig Herbern and Jan Morten Ruud is Chief Executive Officer.
